Review of SauraCorps: Salvation by Derek Borne

Audiobook Narrated by Isabella Tugman

SauraCorps: Salvation is the second installment in this series of young adult fantasy stories following main character Kam and Liv. The story takes place after some time has passed since their first adventure into the past, where they faced dinosaurs and huge creepy bugs.

We meet our characters while on a trip, and Kam is planning something huge. Of course, the universe has other plans for these two when they stumble across a dodo bird while visiting the zoo. This catapults them and their friend, former antagonist Sebastian Sharp, back into the chaos of dealing with time.

I’m going to avoid any spoilers as much as possible, but this book is what anyone with romance in their heart dreams of when they finish a story wondering about what if the characters― you know? I loved that Borne gave me that with these two, and the ending was magnificent.

Kam and Liv are two very likable and realistic characters that kid nap readers' hearts with their humor and fun bickering. They stick together when things get difficult, and I have enjoyed seeing them grow from best friends at the start of book one through this second story to even more. The way they handle the dinosaurs and Borne showing that they aren’t perfect after their brush with the past, is refreshing.

This story is suitable for younger ears in that there are only a few curse words throughout, and the scenes fade to black when someone is being eaten, etc. I listened to this story via audible and enjoyed every bit of it with my younger son. He listened to the first book with me as well, and both are among my top favorites.

This book is a fast-paced story and doesn’t leave readers bored. It’s filled with action, suspense, friendship, family, and second chances. The narrator, Isabella Tugman, does an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I couldn’t imagine anyone else portraying these characters and voicing the various dino noises.

I highly recommend this book and give it an easy 5 of 5 stars.

Book Synopsis:

SauraCorps. Once a criminally covert operation for trafficking dinosaurs to the present, the reformed company now fights a seemingly futile battle to keep dinosaurs safe and out of the public eye.

High school grads, Kamren and Vivienne, are navigating their new relationship status while on a cross-country vacation.

Until a dodo bird waddles into their lives. Being thrust back into the world of prehistoric creatures and those who use them for nefarious purposes causes a rift between the teens. What will it take for Kam and Viv to save the dinosaurs…and themselves?

The Author, Derek Borne

Hey hey! Derek Borne here, and I'm a Canadian author of Sci-Fi novels. When I'm not writing, I spend time with my lovely wife and moody bearded dragon Ziggy (She's always looking at me like I'm an idiot). Other times, I'm eating pizza, belting out Broadway showtunes, playing guitar, eating pizza, watching anything to do with Marvel superheroes, and making movie references daily. Oh, and eating pizza.

And for added emphasis...... pizza.
