Book Review of You Get What You Steal by Ron L. Lahr and R. J. Burchett
You Get What You Steal by R. J. Burchett & Ron L. Lahr was a fascinating and hilarious read. You have a crazy mix up of beings that come together to become one of the most feared group of outlaws in the galaxy, CLOD. Doris, Clint, and Leif take readers on an adventure to multiple planets all in the name of Bozon, the most amazing thing in the galaxy.
The characters of the story go through a lot of growth and changes. It is fascinating to see how their personalities change and also how they bond. The cover features one of the characters, Clint, and he has an interesting seggzy scene in the book. It’s nothing extremely steamy or anything. I found it hilarious honestly. He was my favorite character. He had several unique attributes that you wouldn’t imagine an alien to have.
Doris was my second favorite character. I felt she had the most growth. She went from being bullied and cowering when emotions ran high to being a feared and brave leader of her CLOD group.
The flow of the book itself was easy to follow. Occasionally it would switch POV to another character but maintained a linear timeline. There were excellent points of interest in this book with ships exploding, crazy bug spending, and singing. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a good laugh.
